I am wondering about something here. Yesterday while out in town I saw one of our special citizens (CE) up close for the first time in a while. He is ragged, unwashed, and has very poor dental hygiene. So, I am wondering who is responsible for his welfare now days? Are his parents still alive and just too elderly to care for him? Is he more or less on his own? Anyone know?C. E. has been a regular feature in this town since I was a small child. He has walked miles listening to his radio and just enjoying I guess. He has never caused a problem and I guess he never will. I am just wondering why some of the men in this town don't help him I guess. If his parents are elderly then maybe some guy could befriend him and help him by encouraging hygiene. If his parents are not alive then maybe the "system" needs to check and see who is supposed to care for him and find out why this is not happening. I am in no way suggesting that he be placed out of the public eye. I do not want to be misunderstoof here at all. I think he is a part of the city. He has always represented what was good about Kosciusko. Innocence ect.... The call to dispatch about his "walking in the woods" those kind of things make you think.........who is supposed to be caring for him? |
